The new moon happens at 7 degrees of Taurus on April 27th at 12:31 pm PST. This new moon holds a powerful key to resolve a long held inner friction inside of us.
The focal point to a T-square of the third opposition between Mars and Pluto at 3 degrees of Leo and Aquarius since November 3, 2024, this new moon shows us where to channel our energy to appease this very potent energy of aggression and transformation. Like lancing a boil, Mars, a planet that cuts, directly takes on Pluto, lord of the underworld, egging on an opponent he is not likely to beat.
Pluto, planet of generational trauma and pain, is not an equal opponent to hot-headed Mars. Though Mars may release his impulsive flames, he does not know what kind of hornets nest he is poking. Therefore, the tension here is under-rated, as Mars nonchalantly lights the flame to his own demise.
But it doesn’t have to end this way. Yes, the tension is there, the wound is deep, the pressure, immense. But at a T-square point, at 7 degrees of Taurus, the new moon provides a solution — like waving a flag to distract two angry aggressors, the new moon, ruled by Venus, signals a different way.
The planet Venus, who has just returned from 40 days and nights in her own underworld retrograde journey, rules this new moon in the luxurious earth sign of Taurus. And in Pisces she hovers over the north node in a conjunction to Saturn, symbolizing the need to commit, in a fated (nodal) relationship with Saturn, planet of discipline, commitment, and reality.
Her underworld journey has her resurfacing in this conjunction, to this need to direct and commit her energy to this Taurus area of our charts, a place that needs her love and attention, her magic and her grace.
The sign of Libra is also tied in here, also ruled by Venus, and the place where Saturn is exalted. By pulling the resources of the Libra area of our chart, we are directed to this new beginning in Taurus, as a place where we must pour our love, values, energy and attention to appease this deeply buried and volatile wound.
Did you know that there is a solution to your long-held, frozen, dormant, pulsing pain? That it is through shining the love of your heart, that this area can ease, melt and receive a balm?
Often times when the pain is so big and so real, our only solution seems to be escape, or burying it even further. We can forget that the part of our heart that is still online needs to be fed, so that we can provide the solution, the solution that is inside each of us, in our ability to resuscitate our own heart. This is the medicine of Venus, who rules this new moon as she treads in the deep waters of Pisces, infused with the pressure of this fated north node, conjunct her imperative to commit in order to bring her love into form.
