You have probably heard how significant 2025 is, in that all the outer planets change signs. Below I will break down what these planets signify, the elements they are in, and what the aspects they are in relation to each other represent.
Seeing an actual chart in Astrology helps us understand much more about what is happening. Below is a chart I pulled for July 8, 2025, at which point all the outer planets will have shifted into their new respective signs.
In 2025 we will experience each planet retrograding back into its previous sign, and it is not until 2026 that we will be fully into the new territory.
The chart below shows the outer planets:
Saturn -planet of discipline, toil, hard work and confinement
Uranus- planet of revolution, enlightenment, off-the-wall energy, epiphanies
Neptune-planet of illusion, delusion, oceanic depths, idealism, fantasy, bliss
Pluto-planet of transformation, death, rebirth, trauma and post-traumatic growth
In this chart, what is significant, is that each of these four planets form a very harmonious aspect to each other. In Astrology the angles to which the planets are in relationship describe the nature of our experience of them:
Conjunction: two or more planets at the same degree, can be positive or challenging depending on the energies of the planets
Sextile: a harmonious 60 degree aspect indicating a positive relationship
Square: a challenging 90 degree aspect describing friction and obstacles
Trine: a harmonious 120 degree aspect equalling synergy and team work
Opposition: a confrontational 180 degree aspect signifying conflict and opposition
In 2025, the outer planets will be in very harmonious aspect to each other: holding us through all the tumultuous and radical change.
Pluto in Aquarius will be sextiling the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries (disciplined and sturdy, transcendent transformation), which will be sextiling Uranus in Gemini (hard work and commitment for a positive revolution). Pluto in Aquarius will be trining Uranus in Gemini (radical supported transformation) (see circled planets in chart above).
This whole configuration is extremely supportive for positive change. Even if it does not feel like it right now, the planets are showing us a way through this difficult time by the way they are supportively signaling to each other.
These planets will be shifting from earth and water signs (Capricorn, Pisces and Taurus) to Air and fire signs (Aquarius, Aries and Gemini). This is a shift we can all feel from feminine, grounded and also more stagnant energies, to masculine, quick, mental and spiritual heightened energies.
Note: For the next year, as Jupiter moves into Cancer, its sign of exaltation, it will be directly squaring the Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries. Jupiter is known for its beneficence and expansion, and in a challenging square aspect it can expand possibly in a challenging way. All these transits are happening to help move us to the next level, so as you experience the growth of something that might seem overwhelming, check back in with your intentions about this aspect of your life, practicing radical honesty with how you want to navigate this terrain, as well as acceptance and trust in the process.
We can expect so much change to happen in the next three years alone, after which Saturn will move into the earth sign of Taurus, bringing us back down to earth.
As we move into this new territory, think of how you can equip yourself to live in a more etheric landscape. How can you sharpen your mind, heal your heart, and enliven your spirit so you can keep up with the times?
It is up to each of us to work with these energies in a positive way. Know that the cosmos is holding us, and now it’s up to each of us to hold ourselves. Think of this like a rite of passage, as we are forged by air and fire, purifying our hearts and minds as we re-construct a more cohesive civilization on earth.
