Breaking Down July +“Barbault’s Basket” Comes into Effect
Incredibly Rare Astrology Brings us into a New Paradigm.
July is a HUGE month Astrologically. We start the month with a Mars/Uranus bang, have two incredibly potent lunations (the new and full moons), Venus conjoins the south node, the unprecedented Barbault’s basket is activated, Jupiter and Mercury go cazimi (join with the sun), Neptune, Mercury, and Saturn retrograde, and the nodes of the moon will shift to the Aquarius/Leo axis on July 26th. Let’s break it down.
July kicks off with a Mars/Uranus conjunction at 3 degrees, 52 minutes of Gemini on July 3rd at 11:05 pm PST. This conjunction will light up Neptune and Pluto as well, as Mars will go on to sextile Neptune July 4, and trine Pluto on the 5th. Mars is acting as a trigger here, to activate sudden, powerful, and inspired momentum that will have us moving toward the depths of some deeper goal we are trying to accomplish. July 7th, Neptune, planet of illusion, spirituality and delusion will begin its retrograde in Aries of roughly 6 months, a time for us to review the validity of the illusions/fantasies in our life.
On July 9th Venus will move into Virgo, and conjoin with the south node on July 10th. This is the last month the south node will be in Virgo, and on its way out, it will meet with Venus reducing the potency of this archetype (love, beauty, values, money) for a brief moment in our Virgo house.
July 12th, Mercury goes cazimi: joining with the sun for a momentary refresh of Mercury’s potency.
July 14th, the new moon in Cancer takes place, alongside a square between Venus and Uranus on the 13th. This is the signature of the need to break free, along with a new chapter in the Cancer house in our chart.
July 15th we enter a period of incredible Astrology, where the moon, and social planet Jupiter will align with the three outer planets: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in an incredibly rare configuration first discovered by French Astrologer, Andre Barbault, who lived between October 1, 1921, and October 7, 2019.
We have been witnessing the outer planets all changing signs the past two years, in an unprecedented re-birthing signature marked by the Saturn/Neptune conjunction at zero degrees of Aries: the very beginning of the zodiac.
Now, as they all advance in their own specific timing, they will be meeting up at the 4th degree of their respective signs during the dates of July 15-22, 2026. Their formation will form an incredibly rare design discovered by Andre Barbault, that has since been coined “Barbault’s basket”.
This signature is not just rare, it is unprecedented. It features Pluto at 4 degrees Aquarius, Neptune at 4 Aries, Uranus at 4 Gemini, Jupiter at 4 Leo, and the moon at 4 Libra. Each planet is in an air or fire sign that positively aspects the other by sextile (60 degrees) or trine (120 degrees), except for the exact opposition with Jupiter and Pluto at 4 Aquarius.

As this formation comes into shape, Jupiter will exactly oppose Pluto on July 20th, amplifying themes around power, depth, and transformation. These new and hopeful alignments, of course, come with the gasps of power structures being threatened and the inevitable fighting back. We can expect new, surprising, possibly overwhelming, and mind blowing events to take place or be seeded during this moment of time.
July 22nd, Leo season begins, ushering us into the season of kings.
Mercury will station direct in Cancer on July 23rd, as our communications start to become less hindered and is able to be more direct.
July 26th, Saturn, planet of discipline and structure begins its retrograde. This is a time for us to review what we thought was solid in the Aries house in our chart. The nodes of the moon, where eclipses take place, will also shift into the Aquarius/Leo axis for the next 18 months, bringing us into themes of collective action (N. node in Aquarius) vs. the reduction of the focus on the self (S. node in Leo).
July 29th the full moon in Aquarius occurs, closely conjunct Pluto, and opposite the Jupiter cazimi, alongside a Mars/Venus square. This is a powerful and tense signature, as what was highlighted during the height of Barbault’s basket is spotlit for us to contend with.
All of this Astrology builds upon itself. As the world re-arranges itself to embrace the new paradigm, each small movement is part of this shift. Keeping up with the Astrology shows us that we are indeed in a story that is unfolding, with intricate details that are much beyond our control.
